It's almost here - maxi dress season! This weather needs to seriously quit playing games - 70s and sunny one day and snow storm the next.... This is the most bizarre March I've ever experienced! I should be used to it being from Iowa, but I am really ready for the snow to be gone and spring weather to be here to stay! I think we are in the clear for snow from now on, and looking forward to April showers bringing May flowers!

This dress is awesome because it is loose and light making it so incredibly comfortable, and I love the color - but it fits rather large, so be sure to size down one size. I cannot wait to pack this in my bag for our trip to Palm Springs in June. I can throw it on to go poolside, or wear it while we are out and about exploring the town! This dress also comes in a light brown color and it's only $10 (!) so be sure to scoop it up for summer!

black floral dress | spring style with shein

It's no secret that I love to wear black. It's my go-to, it's what my closet mostly consists of, and it just seems to never fail me. I try my hardest to add color and avoid black when the outside temps start to rise, but when I saw this dress from Shein I thought, what a perfect compromise - it's black, but it has the prettiest floral pattern which is perfect for spring!

I have a closet full of hats that I rarely wear, so I love when I find an outfit I can break one out for. I wanted to pair this with black booties but let me tell you - my winter "tan" is blinding, so it really just didn't look right. I did however wear this dress with black-out tights and booties for a night out with the hubs and it looked fantastic. This dress is lightweight, versatile, so incredibly comfortable, and it's the perfect transition piece for winter to spring.

waterfall trench coat from shein

I absolutely love putting together looks, but sometimes I see something and I say to myself, it's cute, but I'd never wear it. But one of my New Year's Resolutions is to take more fashion risks, and that's what I did with this trench coat - totally not something I'd normally wear, but I got a ton of compliments on it when I put it on Snapchat (@stephmcclure) so I consider that a fashion win!

I'm obsessed with the waterfall collar and this color is ah-maze. It's super casual and can be worn during most of the Midwest seasons. There are so many ways to style this, but I'm particularly in love with it paired with all black. I have a feeling I will be trying to find ways to wear this well into next fall! It's good quality and super affordable, as are most things from Shein, so if you're trying to stay fashionable but still be budget friendly in 2017, you need to check it out!
