black floral v-neck dress

dress c/o make me chic | sweater, similar here | shoes, almost identical here | sunnies | purse, also love this one

I'm really trying my hardest to wear less black, but that's difficult because.. I love it! I'm happy that for this season, black florals are in, so I can wear black but also get a pop of spring with the floral print. This dress is such a great transition from winter to spring. I chose a more casual look with the sweater and flats, but I love that it can be worn casual, to the office, or you can dress it up by adding a belt and/or some heels!

This dress is lightweight and it has pockets, and at a price tag of under $24, what more could you ask for!? I also love how comfortable it is, and it fits loose, so it'd be perfect to wear out to chow down on Sunday brunch!

Hope you enjoy your week! Thanks for reading! XO

black floral dress | spring style with shein

dress c/o, also comes in burgundy | hat, similar here, also love this one | shoes, also love these | purse

It's no secret that I love to wear black. It's my go-to, it's what my closet mostly consists of, and it just seems to never fail me. I try my hardest to add color and avoid black when the outside temps start to rise, but when I saw this dress from Shein I thought, what a perfect compromise - it's black, but it has the prettiest floral pattern which is perfect for spring!

I have a closet full of hats that I rarely wear, so I love when I find an outfit I can break one out for. I wanted to pair this with black booties but let me tell you - my winter "tan" is blinding, so it really just didn't look right. I did however wear this dress with black-out tights and booties for a night out with the hubs and it looked fantastic. This dress is lightweight, versatile, so incredibly comfortable, and it's the perfect transition piece for winter to spring.

I hope you're all having a great weekend! Thanks for reading! XO

floral romper | fall style

romper | booties | purse, rent here, buy here

I'm finally getting around to my birthday post - over a month later. October was a crazy month for me! Now we are 20 days into November and I don't foresee it getting any less crazy with the holidays coming up! It's so hard to believe Thanksgiving is just 4 days away!

I had a great time celebrating my 33rd birthday with one of my bests in town from Dallas and my husband able to get free from work for a day to celebrate. We went to Des Moines and stayed and gambled at Prairie Meadows Casino and Hotel, and took The Big Yellow Bike around downtown Des Moines - if you've never done a pedal tavern before I highly suggest it! We had brunch at the buffet the morning of my birthday (because what's better than a breakfast buffet after a night of drinking?!) and I left the casino with $80 extra in my pocket - I call that a win! Then I finished the weekend off in this amazing floral romper at dinner with the hubs and my mama. Since I'm a pro member with Rent the Runway, I was given a free $50 to spend, so I chose to rent this adorable Rebecca Minkoff bag and Kendra Scott ring (not pictured). I hope everyone has a great, short work week and an even better holiday! Be sure to check out this post here for a gift guide for your Thanksgiving Host/Hostess! Thanks for reading! XO
