Adios, Sunday of Summer! Time to say hello to a new month and kick off a new season with Labor Day weekend! Does anybody else think that this summer flew by!? The Nordstrom #NSale is ON in full force with public access starting today, and I've gathered up a few of my favorite home items for you guys! This was my favorite portion of the sale to shop, because my husband and I are currently searching for a new home (yes, again!) so I love looking through the home section - especially when it's on sale! My mind is currently set on baby room - so that's why you're seeing mostly pink and gold!

Now that the sale is open to the public, things are going to go quick, so if you weren't already prepared for the sale, get over to Nordstrom and get your items before they sell out! And be sure to bookmark things that are sold out, and keep checking back on them - they could do restocks on some items!

I was supposed to be in Palm Springs this week, and the anticipation of the vacation got me obsessing over all things cactus. Which is funny because when I was little we would travel to Arizona to visit my Grandma and my mom would come back with all sorts of desert decor and my sister and I would always make fun of her - as I get older it's crazy to see how trends come back around! Unfortunately we had to cancel our trip to Palm Springs, but I'm still loving the cactus trend and today I'm sharing a few of my faves!

Kate Spade has really jumped on the cactus trend with some of the cutest accessories out right now, like this phone case, this bracelet, these slides and these wedges. I'm not sure if I'm cool enough to pull off these wedges, but they're like artwork to me, and that I love! I love dainty gold jewelry, like this necklace and these earrings - that you can put on this jewelry dish - and a cute graphic piece, like this tank, this sweater and this neckerchief. And what's more perfect for summer than a cactus shaped ice cube tray or pool float!?

I'm pretty easy to please - give me a good cup of coffee, a good pair of shoes or a good sale and I will be a happy girl. Today marks the start of Nordstrom's Half Yearly Sale, which means now through June 4th you can get up to 40% off select clothing, shoes, accessories and designer clearance items! I've dug through the "sale racks" and picked out a few things that I love from the sale - and I think you will too! But trust me - there is plenty more where this came from!

Blush has kind of taken a backseat and right now I'm all about different shades of yellow, like this tank, this dress and this wallet (which is the perfect size for inside of a clutch!) - all these yellow options are less than $60, which is pretty amazing! I'm also totally into geometric home decor right now, and I need this wall mount wine rack! Another obsession of mine right now is pineapples, and I've been wanting this tumbler for a while now. And how cute is this teal pineapple candle? I love when you can score designer deals for a fraction of their price, like this tote, these sunnies, and this wallet - all at amazing prices! And if you're preparing for a slew of summer weddings, this lace midi dress is the perfect wedding guest dress!

It's clear that my current must haves are inspired by all things summer! We had a bit of a tease of extremely warm weather early last week and it had me dreaming about cute summer sandals, maxis and swimwear. So I thought I'd share a few of my faves with you! 

I got this purse and this purse, both which are perfect for summer and I know they'll get a lot of use - so be prepared to see a lot of them! I also got these adorable earrings from BaubleBar's Sugarfix collection at Target and I have plans to wear them with just about everything in my closet! I'm loving one-piece swimsuits for this summer, especially suits with cute details and cut outs like this one. And I'm dying for a pair of espadrilles with a statement like these from Soludos!

Exactly one month from today we go on a (much needed) vacation to Palm Springs, and I'm so excited to get to shopping for it. I've been daydreaming about outfit and accessory ideas, and I really want a cute straw tote, but I didn't realize how many adorable options there are out there! So I've decided to compile a list of my faves - and no, I have not made a decision on one quite yet - but I think it's between this one, this one or this one!

I've never been to Palm Springs, but it seems like there is a lot to see and do. Our resort has a lazy river, so I'm planning on spending most of my time relaxing in the pool. If you've been and you have any suggestions for me, I'd love to hear!

When the weather changes, my wish list gets rather large, so I thought I'd share a few things I'm currently coveting! I'm loving ALL THE THINGS for spring and summer, so surely there will be plenty more wish lists to come!

I'm not sure if I can pull them off but I'm obsessing over neckerchiefs this spring. I'm also into studded sandals, colorful statement earrings and one piece swimsuits. And you can never go wrong with a cute new clutch, some strappy nude sandals and a good pair of jean shorts!

spring break | for the sun

Are you going anywhere tropical or warm for spring break? If so, I am so incredibly jealous! It has been almost a year since we've taken a vacation and I am dying to go somewhere warm. The hubs and I just booked a trip to Palm Springs in June, which will hopefully be here before we know it - I am just counting down the days!

I've rounded up a few items I think are essential for spring break. I'm obsessed with these round beach towels which are both cute and functional and would be perfect for a picnic on the beach. Everyone needs a cute beach bag, and I'm loving this one with the tassel details. Speaking of tassels, these tassel earrings from Bauble Bar's collab with Target have such a beachy vibe and would be perfect for a tropical vacay! One-piece swimsuits are all the rage this season, and this one with the cut out details is high up on my wish list. Seal your look with this Sublime Bronze bronzer cream - I've been using this stuff since last summer and it gives you an awesome all over bronze glow!

10 closet staples

It's so important to have a few items in your closet that will be there for a lifetime. Items that you will beat down and use until you no longer can, and then buy the nearly exact same thing to replace it. And some things that will last forever! Here are a few things that I think you should always have in your closet:

1. A nice black coat is perfect to have to dress up or down. It's nice to have different colors like camel, or patterns like herringbone, or if you really go crazy with a bright yellow, but a simple black coat goes with everything and will never do you wrong. 

2. A good bra is just as important as anything - I've been wearing the same style bra for years and I thought it was my favorite until I was introduced to this one from ThirdLove - they really know how to solve all your "bra-blems" by having you take a short survey before determining which bra would be perfect for you. 3. A good pair of snow and/or rain boots are essential, especially in the Midwest. I love Hunter boots because they're cute but still functional and they come in a number of different colors to suit your personality. 

4. One of my major closet staples is a good go-to pair of jeans, and if you've been reading for a while you've heard me talk about these ones from Express that have lasted me forever. They go with everything and they're so soft and comfortable, good quality and I honestly think they've formed to my body over the years, even after a wash. 

5. A classic sneaker is a must, whether it's a pair of Converse or my current fave, the Adidas Superstar. I throw these on almost every weekend to just go run errands. Again a shoe that is both chic and functional. 

6. Obviously a pair of black heels is a staple, and also a nude pair, between those two options you're set in a pinch because they'll go with anything!

7. A good quality weekender bag is great to have; I use mine when I'm heading to stay with my sister for a weekend and I can just quickly shove a few things in and it doesn't take up too much room, and not heavy and bulky like luggage. It's also great to have as a carry on for vacations. 

8. A small black crossbody purse is my go-to, especially on vacations or for tailgating in the fall - they're easy to tote around, small enough to get into the stadium, but still roomy enough to fit just what I need for either situation. 

9. I've been wearing Ray-Ban aviators for many years, and I even got my husband hooked on them. I thought for sure when I bought my first pair that I would break or lose them, but spending a little extra money has made me take special care of them and I still have and wear the first pair I ever bought. 

10. And lastly, I love having a baseball cap in my possession for those days that I really don't feel like doing my hair, or full on makeup. I throw on a baseball cap and I feel so much better - almost like I'm invisible! It makes it easy to hide my laziness.

Accessories are key to making or breaking an entire outfit. There are so many ways to jazz up your style, and making the simplest outfit stand out just by adding a cute pair of shoes, some shine or a pop of color. So today I've rounded up a few of my favorite accessories for 2017 - all that are on my wish list!

I'm obsessed with all the pieces from BaubleBar at Target, and I want one of everything. The best part is, the prices are so reasonable, so why not stock up! I'm especially in love with these earrings - and this blush color is clearly hot for spring! I have these sneaks in the original black and white, but about died when I saw they come in rose gold too. Would it be entirely inappropriate for me to own them in both colors? I sure hope not, because these beauts are definitely high on my wish list. I've been eyeing these sunnies since last summer, and while I'm not quite sure if the style is right for me, they look adorable on everyone else... I'm still holding out hope that they'll look okay on me, because I'm obsessed with the color. I'm on the hunt for these quilted sneaks because they were out of my size at my local Target. I might have to just buy them online because they're so cute and I just know I'll wear them all summer long. Every weekend when I'm running errands and don't feel like doing my hair, I throw on one of my husband's baseball caps and call it good, but I'm loving these suede baseball caps so I need to get one of my own! They're so chic, and I won't annoy my husband by getting makeup all over his! You'll be seeing these slip on loafers everywhere this spring - easy to dress up or down and they look super comfy. By now I'm sure you're seeing this Gucci belt all over - if you're not willing (or able) to shell out $400+ for a belt, this one is a great option that is just as chic and makes the same bold statement. 90s fashion is back and belts are no exception! And you could always use a new crossbody for spring, especially this one in a great spring color.
