I just realized I haven't posted in 2 weeks... I'm blaming baby brain, the fact that we just bought a new house, and that work has been crazy... honestly I could keep going on and on with excuses, so I'll just stop there. I'm down to single digit weeks until baby girl McClure gets here, so babies are ON the brain, which brings me to today's post! I'm talking all about how I want to decorate the nursery!

Honestly when I first started my registry, I didn't have a clue what I all needed. Thankfully most places pretty much map it out for you. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have to Google what most things were, but I'm assuming as a new mama, Google is going to become my BFF. I knew I always wanted to have the nursery be grey and white with pops of pink and gold, so I'm sharing some of my big items, and once we get in to our new house I can figure out the rest of the decor. The carpet and walls are grey in the new baby room, so the white crib, dresser/changing table and this rug will work perfectly. I love that this rug is a little funky for a baby room, and it will be easy to continue to use as she gets older. Baby girl already has so many cute toys, but this plush unicorn and gold metallic balloon dog fit the pink and gold theme perfectly! I'm also in love with this rocker chair and ottoman combo. And how cute are these crib sheets!?

I honestly don't even care if the rest of the house is put together before baby comes, as long as the nursery is done! The Nordstrom #NSale is ON in full force with public access starting today, and I've gathered up a few of my favorite home items for you guys! This was my favorite portion of the sale to shop, because my husband and I are currently searching for a new home (yes, again!) so I love looking through the home section - especially when it's on sale! My mind is currently set on baby room - so that's why you're seeing mostly pink and gold!

Now that the sale is open to the public, things are going to go quick, so if you weren't already prepared for the sale, get over to Nordstrom and get your items before they sell out! And be sure to bookmark things that are sold out, and keep checking back on them - they could do restocks on some items!

I'm pretty easy to please - give me a good cup of coffee, a good pair of shoes or a good sale and I will be a happy girl. Today marks the start of Nordstrom's Half Yearly Sale, which means now through June 4th you can get up to 40% off select clothing, shoes, accessories and designer clearance items! I've dug through the "sale racks" and picked out a few things that I love from the sale - and I think you will too! But trust me - there is plenty more where this came from!

Blush has kind of taken a backseat and right now I'm all about different shades of yellow, like this tank, this dress and this wallet (which is the perfect size for inside of a clutch!) - all these yellow options are less than $60, which is pretty amazing! I'm also totally into geometric home decor right now, and I need this wall mount wine rack! Another obsession of mine right now is pineapples, and I've been wanting this tumbler for a while now. And how cute is this teal pineapple candle? I love when you can score designer deals for a fraction of their price, like this tote, these sunnies, and this wallet - all at amazing prices! And if you're preparing for a slew of summer weddings, this lace midi dress is the perfect wedding guest dress!

Wedding season is upon us, and now that we've dipped into it, I wanted to share a little guide to help with your wedding registry! While I am certainly not an expert on wedding registries, I have been there, and in my experience these are the things that have come in the most useful in my household. Just a few things that some people don't think of other than your standard towels, fine china or pot holders.

Seasons are changing and I'm loving all the new stuff that's popping up in stores and online. It's also that time of year for spring cleaning, so out with the old, in with the new! I like to clean out my closet and either sell stuff on Mercari or take it to a consignment shop. That way I don't feel as guilty when I buy something new! Here are a few things on my wish list:

Hosts and hostesses work very hard to make a party successful. Hours of cleaning, cooking and shopping, and also making sure everyone is having a good time. So they deserve a little something special for all of their hard work. While I do believe a nice bottle of champagne is a good enough gift, here are some other ideas in case you want to do something different:

Happy November! I cannot believe October is over and the holidays are almost upon us. I have so much to look forward to in the coming months; my best friend is driving up from Dallas to stay with me, I'm heading back to Iowa to spend a lot of time with my family, my sister and I are going to take our annual Christmas trip to Chicago and we are also going to have all of our friends in town for our Friendsmas party. This time of year makes me so happy, so I figure this is a good time to share with you all a new series of blog posts I like to call First of the Month Faves. Here's the November edition!

birthday wish list

Yesterday was my birthday, and first thing in the morning I got a text from my best friend that said "making a wish before uncorking a birthday bottle of wine is my version of blowing out the candles." She knows me so well. I told my husband that I wanted potato cheese bites and champagne in bed (because calories don't count on your birthday) and he delivered. While I can't tell you what I wished for, I can tell you what is on my birthday wish list, so here goes:
