friday faves

'Tis the season where my wish list keeps growing and growing and I want to go online and buy ALL. THE. THINGS. Just a few weeks and we will be heavy into holiday shopping, and you know what that means - SALES! To prepare, I wanted to share a few of my current faves that I have or hope to scoop up for myself before I'm out shopping for everyone else!

It's no secret that I love a good vest, and this cascading sweater vest is thick and warm and the perfect layer for this cold weather. I've been dying to try the over the knee boot trend, and I'm a little scared to, but when I do try them these ones from Steve Madden are at the top of my list. I'd been eyeing these jeans for a while, and I finally got a pair which I'm glad I did because they're low on inventory. My suggestion for these jeans is to size up, and they run long, so if you're normally a regular length, go for short. I recently discovered Giuliana Rancic's line for HSN and I was pleasantly impressed with the quality of her clothing, and I'm loving this blouse. I've never bought from HSN before, but knowing that they have payment plans is a pretty neat option, especially if you're on a budget coming up on the holiday season! For my birthday I rented a Rebecca Minkoff purse from Rent The Runway and I loved it, so of course I have to add this purse to my wish list in my favorite fall color, which is a great holiday color as well! This camel colored sleeveless sweater dress is a great layering option for the season, keeping you warm but not too warm for when you're crammed into your office's holiday party. Another favorite bag on my list is this saddle bag with tassel details from Kate Spade in a great neutral color, perfect for both fall and winter. I've been using Rocksbox (you can get your first month free with code THEBLONDESTYLEBLOGXOXO) and decided that I definitely need a pair of these heart eye emoji earrings in my life, as well as this bracelet from Kendra Scott which one of my friends got in her Rocksbox and I was green with envy. These sunnies were originally a rental from Ditto, but I love them so much that I want them to be mine. I'm normally a Ray-Ban girl, but I love using Ditto to try out all different brands - you can too with one month free using code THEBLONDESTYLE for one month free! Shorts are one of my favorite pieces of clothing to wear all season long, especially a pair like these that shimmer and would be perfect paired with a sweater, tights and heels for a holiday party. And you know I'm still loving the off the shoulder trend, and I got this blouse for my birthday celebration and loved everything about it from the flowy, long sleeves, to the perfect, green color for fall.

Are you guys excited for holiday shopping? Be sure to check back for all sorts of gift guides coming to the blog soon! Thanks for reading! XO

current beauty faves

Lately it seems like I've been living in my car, off of Chex Mix and Diet Coke and wearing little to no makeup, yoga pants and a baseball cap. So I'm excited to talk beauty today! It seems like every season I change up my beauty routine, and I love trying new things, so today I'm going to share with you a few of my current favorite products.

I've never used a strobing stick or a highlighter, nor did I really know what it was, but I came across this one from Maybelline when shopping one day and decided to try it out. I had to actually look up on Pinterest how to use it, and it seems like there is no right answer. I just put it on over my foundation around my hairline, above my cheekbones and below my cheekbones and it's the perfect amount of shimmer for when I'm going all out. I've been wanting to try out some eye patches for a while now, so I was excited when I found these ones from Sephora, which are totally inexpensive and work wonders! They have all different kinds from anti-fatigue, anti-aging, nourishing and repairing, and many more. With my routine being totally out of whack from this move, these are perfect to have on hand! I've been using L'Oreal Voluminous mascara since I was a teen - it was what my mom has always used so I caught on, and to this day I believe it is the best drugstore mascara out there. When L'Oreal came out with this primer, I was even more excited, and it did not disappoint! The mascara itself gives the best volume, and adding a primer gives it a little bit more va-va-voom! I randomly came across this Tattoo Brow from Kat Von D on Instagram one day, and I decided to check it out - I'd been struggling for years trying to find the best product for my unruly brows. This stuff came with great reviews and it's similar to using a marker but goes on in hair-like strokes making it look very natural. It's a little pricey for a brow product with a $20 price tag, but I've gotten a lot of use out of one tube, so in my mind it's been worth it. I got this Chubby in the Nude foundation stick as a free product, and it has been my go-to for an on the go foundation. Look in my purse at any given time and you'll see an extra bottle of foundation in there for touch ups, but this is perfect because it's a stick and it's small, and convenient to go from my purse to my pocket when I'm out and about or at work! And I've been using the same drugstore eye shadow for years, but sometimes I like to switch it up, so after using the Urban Decay Naked 2 pallet, I splurged and bought myself another Urban Decay eye shadow in Space Cowboy, and I love the fancy feel I get from the shimmer.

It's my birthday weekend and I'm so excited to get fancy with some of my favorite people after a couple weeks of moving mayhem! Anybody else have any fun plans this weekend? Thanks for reading! XO

monthly wish list // march

Seasons are changing and I'm loving all the new stuff that's popping up in stores and online. It's also that time of year for spring cleaning, so out with the old, in with the new! I like to clean out my closet and either sell stuff on Mercari or take it to a consignment shop. That way I don't feel as guilty when I buy something new! Here are a few things on my wish list:

first of the month faves // december

December is here! The last 31 days of 2015, isn't that crazy?! As much fun as this year has been, I'm personally ready to put 2015 behind me. I'm very much looking forward to a new year. It's a fresh start, right? The best thing about it finally being December is that I can finally start talking about ALL. THINGS. CHRISTMAS. Starting with my First of the Month Faves!

first of the month faves // november

Happy November! I cannot believe October is over and the holidays are almost upon us. I have so much to look forward to in the coming months; my best friend is driving up from Dallas to stay with me, I'm heading back to Iowa to spend a lot of time with my family, my sister and I are going to take our annual Christmas trip to Chicago and we are also going to have all of our friends in town for our Friendsmas party. This time of year makes me so happy, so I figure this is a good time to share with you all a new series of blog posts I like to call First of the Month Faves. Here's the November edition!
