floral print ruffle dress | summer style

I'm loving the style of dresses this summer - florals, flowy, ruffles, all making it easier for me to wear non-maternity clothes for as long as I can! It's not that I want to hide my bump, but it's hard to find cute maternity clothes, and I'm trying to take advantage of showing off my bump in fashionable outfits before I get to third trimester and refuse to get out of my yoga pants!


This dress is perfect for summer, and I wanted to share it in time for the holiday weekend approaching. It's lightweight and comfy, which is perfect for the super hot weather we've been experiencing! I like to keep it casual with these cute tassel sandals and a jean button up, but it could definitely be dressed up with some statement earrings and some wedges! 

What are you guys up to for the holiday weekend? I'll be dogsitting for my sister, but I'm hoping to sip on some mocktails and watch fireworks with my hubby and some friends! Thanks for reading! XO

One of the things I love about blogging is when people tell me they liked a particular post or give me ideas on what to write about. Of course I love this creative outlet and will blog no matter what, but it's always nice to know people are reading. So when my best friend asked for a post on advice for what to wear to a wedding in October... An OUTDOOR wedding in October, in the Midwest, where anything can happen weather-wise, I had to give her what she wanted. I was doing my research and realized a lot of the dresses I found were from Express, and that they have a ton of good options for a fall wedding whether the temps are hot or it's snowing, so this post became a one stop shop! The best part - all these dresses are 40% starting today going through Labor Day weekend! Most of these dresses can be carried into the winter season as well, so stock up while they're on sale.

winter style // wool fedora


I'm getting a little bit of cabin fever down here in Missouri, and I only leave my house to go to work, so when the hubs asked me to go on a road trip to go shopping for his holiday party this weekend I was elated. (We have to drive an hour to shop anywhere decent.) Better yet, it was a gorgeous day here in MO, almost reaching 50 degrees! (It's the middle of January, I'll take it.) Needless to say, I took this opportunity to take a break from PJs and work clothes to wear something fun, like this wool fedora. I have this thing with hats - I love them, I own a lot of them, but I rarely wear them... this is where one of my New Year's Resolutions pops in - if I don't wear it, I'm getting rid of it.

You'd think that after the holidays I wouldn't be able to come up with a wish list, but it just never ends for me. Don't get me wrong, I got a lot of great things for Christmas and I absolutely do not need anything else, but that's why it's called a 'wish' list, right? In this digital age, new fun things are always popping up online and in my emails and I'm all, I NEED DIS.

circle hem sweater + scuba leggings



I bought this sweater a while back because I loved the color, not knowing that soon this style would be all over the place. I'm so glad I did because it is so comfy and I love the circle hem detail! I bought it with these scuba leggings knowing that I wanted to pair them together, and I love the way it looks. The circle hem falls right above the zipper detail on the leggings as if they were made for each other. These leggings are very comfortable when on... they definitely do not look like they would be! So that was a pleasant surprise!

white on white


Happy first day of winter! Although it doesn't feel like it. Today it got up to 50 degrees here in Missouri. It's hard to believe Christmas is just 3 days away! To put me in the Christmas mood, I've had Mariah Carey's Christmas on repeat and I baked cookies and wrapped presents - and by wrap I mean stuffed into bags because I am terrible at wrapping. I also went to my husband's store to help kids decorate cookies to leave for Santa. It's so cute seeing what they come up with!

This time of year we tend to have to dress up a lot, but sometimes you just want to wear a comfy sweater and a good pair of jeans. I love my skinny jeans, and these ones from Old Navy did not disappoint. It's hard to find a good pair of skinny jeans for us curvy girls, but this pair fit perfectly.
